Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

This list of FAQ's will clarify most questions regarding the cabin, area, and reservation process. However, please don't hesitate to contact us, either by email or phone, with any questions. It's important to us that the cabin will suit your vacation plans and we want to ensure you know exactly what to expect.


How private is the cabin? Are there any neighbors?

The cabin is secluded in a beautiful wooded setting; you will not see any neighbors, nor will they see you, from the property.


How many people can it sleep?

The cabin comfortably accommodates up to 2 adults and 2 children, with a Queen size bed in 1 bedroom, and a Twin over Full size bunk bed in the 2nd bedroom. 550 sq feet makes for a cozy, intimate space. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing the cabin with another couple.


What is provided at the cabin and what will I need to bring with me?

The cabin comes equipped with most of the things you need for your vacation:

  • Full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, pots/pans/utensils, dishware)
  • Firewood for the fireplace
  • Washer/dryer in the basement
  • Charcoal grill
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Blankets & Pillows
  • Games
  • DVD Player & Library
  • Starter roll of paper towels & toilet paper.

You Will Need To Bring:

  • Personal toiletries
  • Groceries
  • Sheets, Pillow Cases & Towels
  • Laundry detergent
  • Extra toilet paper & paper towels
  • Charcoal & lighter fluid for the grill
  • Newspaper/kindling for starting a fire.

Recommended Items Include:

  • Bug Spray
  • Bathrobe and flip flops for getting in and out of the hot tub
  • Phone charger

Do you accept pets? What is the pet fee?

Yes! We love dogs! Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome (sorry, no other pets) provided they are treated with flea/tick prevention, waste is picked up, and they are not allowed on beds or furniture at any time. The fee is $50 for up to 2 dogs. Our canine guests love hiking the woods, taking a dip in the pond, and lounging outside on the lawn. Absolutely no hot tub time for the dogs, though. If our housekeeper/caretaker has to pick up after your dog after you leave, additional fees will be deducted from your security deposit.


What are check-in/check out times? Can I arrive earlier or leave later?

Check-in is  4:00 PM and check out is 11:00 AM.

Due to a high occupancy rate, the cabin is often booked back to back and our caretaker needs time to properly service the cabin and hot tub between rentals.

An earlier check-in may be arranged a few days prior to your arrival date if it turns out there isn’t another guest checking out that day. However, since the housekeeping schedule is set at the time of your reservation, a later check-out time is not possible.


Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes.


What is your cancellation policy?

Full refund more than 30 days prior to check-in.  Less than 30 days prior to check-in, refunds will be determined by the number of canceled days re-booked.


How do I get the keys?

7 days prior to arrival, you will receive an email with directions, info about the cabin, and the code to the key lock box on the front door.


How are the roads in the winter? Will I need four wheel drive?

Wintertime access on the roads to the cabin is quite good and our driveway is plowed/sanded in the winter. While 4-wheel drive is not necessary, this is the mountains and an AWD drive vehicle with decent tire tread is highly recommended. Be prepared to shovel your way to the hot tub after a major snowstorm.


Will there be cell phone service? What about Internet?

Cell phone service is spotty at the cabin, that’s why we have an unlimited long distance calling plan on the phone (within the U.S. only). We have no WiFi access at the cabin, however there are several great spots in downtown Littleton that offer free WiFi. You can also use the computer at the Littleton or Lisbon libraries.


Are there shopping/restaurants nearby?

The nice thing about the cabin is that it is secluded, yet not remote. You can get almost anything you need within a 10 minute drive to Littleton.


What about Power Outages?

While power outages are common in rural locations, it's not an issue at the Cozy Cabin. We have a generator for back-up power - In the event of a power outage, our caretaker can come over and start it up for you. He lives nearby and can usually come over on short notice.
